Educational Partnerships - Transfer Agreements with Universities SAIT School of Business is dedicated to providing graduates with access to further education or professional designations. Business graduates who meet the GPA requirements from the accepting institutes may apply for a post diploma program with several universities. Apprenticeship and Industry Training/ Alberta Advanced Education The most popular method for journeymen to earn their Blue Seal is through the SAIT Applied Management Certificate. Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training, a division of Alberta Advanced Education, is responsible for the Blue Seal certification. In collaboration with learning providers, industry, communities, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations, the Ministry of Advanced Education and Technology strives to fulfill its mission by creating accessible, affordable and quality learning opportunities that are responsible to the ongoing learning needs of Albertans. Alberta Association of Professional Paralegals The Association has evaluated the Legal Assistant Program at SAIT and has given it official recognition. The Association is the donor of an annual award to the graduating student with the highest academic standing. Members of the Association serve on the program's Advisory Committee and volunteer as guest speakers in some of the program's courses. The Legal Assistant Program, as represented by the program coordinator, is a member of the Association. CIBC Business Technology Centre The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce opened in February of 1995, providing students with state-of-the-art computer marketing, accounting and business management training. The CIBC Business Technology Centre serves over 6,000 students in full-time programs, credit continuing education courses and customized up-grading programs for regional businesses. Canadian Institute of Management (CIM) Canadian Institute of Management students can pursue SAIT Business and Tourism Department courses towards the nationally recognized designation of Certified in Management. This partnership benefits current SAIT Business and Tourism students and those in other disciplines wanting to gain this national certification as well as SAIT alumnus. Certified General Accountants Association of Alberta (CGA) This partnership has SAIT delivering accredited professional accounting training for the CGA program through Business Administration and Accelerated Accounting. In 1997 the alliance was taken a step further with the signing of a preferential agreement giving SAIT the exclusive rights to deliver senior level courses in Calgary. Business and Tourism faculty is active in the association and representatives of the association serve on advisory and fund raising committees. The association supports professional development and advancement of accounting education through sponsorship of annual workshops. International Association of Administrative Professionals The partnership involves certification for secretaries and administrative assistants. SAIT is a testing site for the Certified Professional Secretaries examinations. Administrative Information Management faculty is actively involved in monthly chapter meetings. Association members support student visits and student practicum. Representatives of the professional association serve on the Administrative Information Management advisory board Society of Management Accountants of Alberta (CMA) The partnership results in SAIT delivering accredited professional accounting training for the CMA program through Business Administration and Accelerated Accounting. Business faculty is active in the society and representatives of the society serve on advisory and fund raising committees.
