 |  | Steven Hildebrand | | Steven Hildebrand is the recently elected President of the SAIT Students’ Association. Prior to his election in February, Steven sat as one of two student representatives on SAIT’s Board of Governors, making this year his second consecutive with the Board. Steven is currently completing his diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology and looks forward to graduating this spring. Off campus he is involved with both provincial and federal student lobby groups (the Alberta Students’ Executive Council [ASEC] and the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations [CASA], respectively). Steven also currently sits as the chair of the Calgary Student Caucus, a collaboration of all publicly funded post secondary institutions in Calgary, focused on improving student welfare in the City of Calgary. His involvement with the Students’ Association goes back to his first days at SAIT, when he decided to run as a representative on the Students’ Legislative Council for the School of Manufacturing and Automation. Steven believes in fostering a sense of community on campus, as well as supporting student involvement in applied research and external academic activities. He is excited to be returning to the board to provide a voice for the students in the direction and governance of SAIT.
