 |  | Gerry Protti | | Gerry Protti has over 35 years of experience in the energy industry including 15 years as an executive officer of Encana Corporation and one of its predecessor companies PanCanadian. His corporate experience includes marketing, operations, new ventures, corporate relations and international. Gerry served as the inaugural President of CAPP (the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers) and the Executive Director of IPAC (the Independent Petroleum Association of Canada). His extensive experience includes Assistant Deputy Minister with the Alberta Department of Energy and positions with the Alberta Treasury department, the Canadian Energy Research Institute and Ontario Hydro. Gerry has also served as Chairman in a number of not-for-profit roles including CAPP, Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Public Policy Forum and STARS Foundation. He has also served on the Boards of the Alberta Economic Development Authority, Calgary Economic Development and the University of Alberta. Today, Gerry sits on four boards including US and Alberta technology companies, a Calgary-based international Exploration and Production company, and also serves as Chairman of Flint Transfield Services, a private joint venture of Flint Energy, a well-known Alberta firm, and Transfield - an Australian company. FTS specializes in asset management services for large capital projects in the oilsands, refining and petrochemical sectors. Gerry also serves as an advisor for a Swiss-based venture capital fund, Emerald Technology Ventures and a Utah based R & D company Purestream Technology, with water and air emissions solutions for the oil and gas industry. Finally, Gerry is a Vice Chair at EPIC, the Energy Policy Institute of Canada which is an initiative of over 30 diverse Canadian companies to make recommendations for a National energy strategy. He also advises the Government of Alberta on their Regulatory Enhancement Project.
