January 31, 2012 – If you haven’t been to an Open House at SAIT Polytechnic before, you may experience sensory overload when you walk into the Heart Atrium.

Whether it’s the roar of the custom motorcycle chopper, the feel of a welding gun in your hand or the smell of the chocolate lab, Open House is a fun, yet functional, way to get to know SAIT.

“Open House allows us to show off the work we do at SAIT to people thinking of enroling next year or down the road,” says Gord Nixon, Vice President Academic. “Instructors are on-hand to talk to future students and take attendees on tours around campus.”

Each of SAIT’s eight schools are represented at Open House as well as many of the support departments available to students, such as Transfer Options, Student Development and Counselling.

Don’t know what you want to be yet? Career planning information sessions will run on Saturday at 10 am, 11:30 am and 2 pm.

During Open House, future students can complete one free application to a SAIT program — usually a $50 charge ($200 for international students). Attendees can apply at Open House or apply online. Find out how to apply to SAIT on Feb. 3 and 4 on the Open House information page.

Guests to Open House will also be able to learn more about the 740,000 square-foot Trades and Technology Complex scheduled to open in September 2012. You can even get yourself included on the guest list for the grand opening.

Free parking for Open House guests will be available on Saturday on levels 2 and 3 of the P6 parking garage.

Open House 2012 runs Feb. 3 and 4 from 9 am until 4 pm.
