Parking garage receives Mayor’s design awardTuesday, November 8, 2011 – The SAIT Polytechnic Parking Garage took home The Mayor's Urban Design Award (MUDA) for Urban Architecture on Nov. 2. The MUDAs are held every two years, and acknowledge the importance well-designed buildings and public spaces in improving the quality of life in Calgary. Architecture considered for the award is judged on its capacity to make people feel welcome, support pedestrian activity, improve safety and accessibility, and create a memorable sense of place. SAIT shares the honour of the 2011 MUDA Award for Urban Architecture with the University of Calgary, which won for its new Downtown Campus. Find out more about why SAIT won the MUDA here.
