Provincial one-stop application shop launchedFebruary 2, 2010, Calgary, Alberta – The Government of Alberta has officially unveiled ApplyAlberta, a secure application system that will make it easier for students to apply to one or more publicly-funded post-secondary institutions within the province. ApplyAlberta will replace 26 different application systems with one common application starting point. The new web-based system will facilitate the transfer of academic transcripts and speed up the application process for prospective students. The system, which SAIT has been using since December 2009, is gradually being phased in to all post-secondary institutions across Alberta. “SAIT Polytechnic was one of six institutions that played a key role in the development and implementation of this college application and transcript transfer system,” says Jennifer Bennett, SAIT Registrar. The system was tested extensively by students, institutions and government to ensure it will be able to handle the expected volume each year and improve the student experience. Students can start their applications on SAIT’s website or at www.applyalberta.ca.
